Enrol for MSc and PhD at ACEGID

Applications are now open to suitably qualified candidates for the Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) postgraduate programme in Molecular Biology and Genomics at the Department of Biological Sciences, Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, Nigeria. The program is conducted in collaboration with ACEGID, also based in the university.

As a postgraduate student at ACEGID, you enlist as an elite member of next generation scientists advancing knowledge and research into infectious diseases of public health importance (in man and animals) especially in Africa. Our MSc and PhD in Molecular Biology and Genomics is accredited internationally by the Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs (AQAS).

Admission Requirements

Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Programme:

Candidates must have five (5) O’ level credit passes including English, Mathematics, Biology and any two subjects of relevance in one sitting OR six (6) credit passes in not more than two (2) sittings.

Candidates with Bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology, Molecular Biology/Genetics, Biochemistry, Zoology and other related life science disciplines from the Redeemer’s University or any university approved by the Senate of the University and a minimum of second-class lower division are eligible to apply.
Candidates with HND (Upper Credit) and university PGD with CGPA of 3.0/5.0 may be considered for admission.

Candidates must submit a one-page essay about the research they wish to conduct during the program.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree Programme:

  1. Candidates must have at least five (5) O’ level credit passes including English, Mathematics, Biology and any two subjects of relevance in one sitting OR six (6) credit passes in not more than two (2) sittings.
  2. Candidates with Bachelor’s degrees from the Redeemer’s University or any university approved by the Senate of the University and a minimum of second-class lower division with a CGPA of 3.0/5.0 are eligible to apply
  3. Candidates must have academic Master’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology/Genetics, Biochemistry, Zoology and other related life science disciplines with a CGPA 4.0/5.0 and dissertation score not lower than 60%.
  4. Candidates must submit a one-page essay about the research they wish to conduct during the program.
  5. Candidates must demonstrate adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision making and problem solving potentials.
