Dr. Ifenyiwa Aniebo holds a Bachelor of Sciences (Genetics and Microbiology) from Queens Mary University, London, UK, a Master’s of Science (Applied Biomolecular Technology), from the University of Nottingham, UK, a Master of Research from Oxford University, UK, Masters of Public Health from Oxford University, UK, and a Doctorate degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK.
After her Doctorate degree, Dr. Aniebo went to Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University, Boston, MA, USA, for a Takemi Postdoctoral Fellowship on International Health. She recently received the prestigious Calestous Juma Science Fellowship for exceptional African scientists from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Dr. Aniebo has worked with several international research organizations in Africa, Europe, and Asia. In 2020, she first joined ACEGID as a part-time Science Communication Manager, leading the centre’s newly formed media unit from strategy to implementation. In 2022, she joined ACEGID as a Scientist.
Since joining ACEGID, Dr. Ifenyiwa Aniebo added value to the malaria research component of the centre, by bringing in major malaria research grants. She has also just been informed of another major US NIH grant in which she is a major collaborator.
